American

limited to supporting the event financially, but our team looks
forward to full

in this annual event for 2007 and beyond.

Climbing Mountains for
Home Infusion
HomeCare I.V. of Bend, Inc Vice President and CFO traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park near Denver, Colorado in early September 2006 to meet with Health Information Policy Director Bruce Rodman from the National Home Infusion Association and attempt to climb the park's tallest summit, Longs Peak.
Discussions included Medicare Part D and the recently introduced Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Consolidated Coverage Act (HR-5791). The pair, joined by three associates, then made the six mile hike from 8200 feet to set up a base camp two thousand feet below Longs Peak's 14,232 foot summit. The summit attempt made the following day was foiled by bad weather. A thunderstorm with high winds and snow caught them at the 13,200 foot level and forced their retreat.
Mr. Ed
Returns to Washington
HomeCare I.V. of Bend, Inc. Vice President and CFO Ed Neumann joined 100 other members of the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA)at the second Annual Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. The conference, held July 18 and 19, 2006, coincided with the introduction in the US Congress of the Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Consolidated Coverage Act (HR-5791). The act will provide comprehensive coverage of all aspects of home infusion therapy, including infusion drugs, under Medicare Part B.
Consolidated, comprehensive coverage of home infusion therapy under Medicare Part P will provide seniors with a safe, clinically effective alternative to receiving care in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals and has the potential to save the Medicare program millions of dollars.
Following the conference, Ed met with Oregon 2nd Disctrict Congressman Greg Walden and his staff to seek his support as a cosponsor of HR-5791.
