Mid-Cycle Accreditation Survey 2008
Every three years, a team of surveyors from The Joint Commission makes an on-site visit to our facilitiy. In 2008, however we were surprised with a mid-cycle unannounced survey and passed yet again with flying colors (Gold to be specific). HomeCare IV Inc voluntarily undergoes these surveys to verify the quality and effectiveness of our staff and care processes. Using an extensive list of standards, the surveyors review and inspect procedures, facilities and operations to verify compliance. HomeCare I.V. is accredited under the home care and ambulatory care programs of The Joint Commission.
During the period between on-site surveys, HomeCare IV reports compliance with those stadards to the Joint Commission and identifies areas needing improvement. HomeCare IV will undergo our next scheduled check-up in Spring 2011.
Information about HomeCare IV's accreditation can be found at www.jointcommission.org. Click "Find an Accredited or Certified Organization" in the Action Center, then just search for "HomeCare IV".

The Shepard's House
While we used to
participate in Adopt-A-Family every Christmas, we decided to
adopt a larger family. Since 2008, the staff at HomeCare
IV have donated their time regularly to The Shepherd's
House, an organization which helps provide clothes, warm
meals, and both temporary and permanent places to stay for many
homeless in the Central Oregon area. HomeCare
IV also donates food and clothing, and gives a large
Christmas bonus to the house each year. At HomeCare IV we
care about those in our community, and believe that everyone
deserves a chance to thrive.

Climbing Mountains for Home Infusion
HomeCare IV Vice President and CFO Ed Neumann traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park near Denver, Colorado in early September 2006 to meet with Health Information Policy Director Bruce Rodman from the National Home Infusion Association and attempt to climb the park's tallest summit, Longs Peak.
Discussions included Medicare Part D and the recently introduced Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Consolidated Coverage Act (HR-5791). The pair, joined by three associates, then made the six mile hike from 8200 feet to set up a base camp two thousand feet below Longs Peak's 14,232 foot summit. The summit attempt made the following day was foiled by bad weather. A thunderstorm with high winds and snow caught them at the 13,200 foot level and forced their retreat.
HomeCare I.V. of Bend, Inc has earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™
