Specialists make a difference...
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), one of the most common forms of arthritis, is a systemic disease that affects the entire body. RA is characterized by inflammation of the membrane lining the joint, which causes pain, stiffness, warmth, redness and swelling. Inflammatory cells in the tissues release enzymes, which invade, digest and damage bone and cartilage. The involved joint can lose its shape and alignment, resulting in pain and loss of movement.
In addition to physical and occupational therapy, various medications have been shown to reduce inflammation and provide at least some measure of pain relief. Home Care I.V.’s trained nurses and pharmacists are experienced in administering physician-ordered infusions for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. A few examples of HomeCare IV’s rheumatoid arthritis infusion services include:
In addition to RA, Home Care I. V. provides infusion therapies for other auto-immune conditions at our ambulatory infusion center.
