HomeCare I.V. of Bend works closely with hospitals throughout
central oregon, including Saint Charles Medical Center - Bend and Redmond,
Harney
County District Hospital, Blue
Mountain Hospital, Pioneer Memorial Hospital, OHSU and
others. It is a joint effort to discharge a patient from
a distant hospital into our service region for home infusion
therapy. 
The discharge planner must contact
us and let us know the details of the discharge and send us the
patients demographic information and insurance information so
that we can check what kind of "out-of-pocket" cost it will be
to the patient.
In other instances, a patient is discharged from our local hospital, SCMC Bend or Redmond, who lives in Silver Lake, Klamath Falls or other outlying area. In that case, medications are provided and shipped out Fed-Ex for next day delivery and the nursing care is provided by their own home health agencies. We still follow the lab results and communicate with the patient on a regular basis to see how things are going.
It takes communication and cooperation to serve the wide region of Central and Eastern Oregon and HomeCare I.V. is grateful for the partners we have in our hospital community.
