At Home Care I.V., the administrative staff compliments our professional healthcare team. Working closely with nurses, pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, our administrators provide medical claims, inventory, delivery and medical equipment support. 
Medical Claims: Our Claims Department has one of the most challenging jobs in the healthcare industry. Home infusion billing and coding is a complex process where public and private payers process claims differently. Government health care entitlement programs have not all kept pace with the private sector and, at present, Medicare, for example, does not pay for many home infusion therapies. In addition, home infusion claims are more work-intensive and payers often take longer to issue payments than other sectors of healthcare.

Purchasing and Delivery: While pharmacists and pharmacy technicians prepare medications, supplies are selected and packed by trained technicians. Depending on the specific therapy, home infusion patients require different combinations of supplies. Often, supplies include infusion pumps, IV poles, sterile dressing supplies, tubing, IV catheter care kits, patient education materials and other equipment, individualized to meet a patient’s needs.

Our purchasing technician coordinates with the clinical staff to meet the challenges of 'just-in-time' inventory management. This method of inventory control enhances our cost-effectiveness and ensures current supplies. Our delivery technician ensures applicable patients receive all supplies and medications in a timely manner.
